Iverson did very well at Georgetown in academics and sports.Iverson continued to play both basketball and football.In Iverson's freshman year he was awarded the Big East deffensive and offensive player of the year.He also won deffensive player of the year,the following season.In 1996 Allen was the 1st overall pick in the NBA draft.
Iverson finished his rookie year averging 23.5 points,good for 6th in the league.He was named November rookie of the month.Iverson won the All Star rookie game MVP,as well.After an outstanding rookie year Allen's second year was much better.He cut down his turnovers and his shooting improved.Iverson also recieved vote in the All-NBA team selections,he finished 29th overall.In the Answers 3rd season he was unstopable.He was the NBA scoring leader,4th in MVP voting,best Guard,and All-NBA first team.

		How it all began



		The Answer..... Allen was born and is from Hampton,Virginia.Iverson's mom gave birth to him when she was only 16.Iverson had a hard live growing up.His best friend was murdured.During Allen's childhood the family spent days without electricity and water,because they couldn't pay the bills.Iverson went to high school at Bethel High.In his Junior year he was named Virginia State player of the year in two sports.Playing pointgaurd in basketball and playing quarterback and cornerback in football.That year he led the Bethel High Bruins to the state championship in both sports.Allen was hoping to go to Maryland and play basketball and football.There he would have joined his close childhood friend Joe Smith.But in 1993 A huge fight broke out in a local bowling alley and ruined all that.And changed his life.Allen wasn't allowed to play football or basketball his senior year.Since he was so heavily recruited.During the summer he he had to finish school.Allen got into Georgetown where he studied B.
